Hello Fam,
Well another week is come and gone and all I can do is just enjoy the ride. So this last week has been kinda crazy. So we'll start off on Wednesday, we had planned to help Lee groom her poodle again and so Elder Romero wanted to have a day exchange, Lee is a smoker and even though she is cutting back and not smoking inside, the smoke that is there just kills him and makes his eyes kill and since it takes about 2 hours to get the dog taken care of he decided to go with another Elder for the day.
So no big deal, grooming went a ton better than last time seeing as how it has only been 2 months since the last time that he was cut instead of 6 months. Then that night we had our exchanges with the zone leaders and so, we changed back with the Kelso Elders just long enough so that Elder Romero could pack and then he was off to Woodland to be with the zone leaders. So for 36+ hours I basically wasn't with Elder Romero, it was really weird but it was fun too.
So on Thursday we had a lesson with a new investigator, Lenny Gonzalez, he is Lee’s son and just moved into his own place. He is 40 but has been waiting for his state disability to kick in. So since we have been working with his mom to get her back active he started to get interested in what we were talking about so he finally took a Book of Mormon and accepted an invite to teach him in his own house. To say the least the lesson went great, he loved everything that we taught him and accepted our invitation to be baptized on the 30 of October, and then to top it off he came to church this last Sunday and loved it so we are super excited.
Then on Friday and Saturday me and Elder Romero went out to Cathlamet (so basically Elder Romero only spent like 3 nights at out apartment this last week lol.) and on Saturday we had the farewell BBQ for the Hargrove and Kolditz families, the Hargroves just moved down to Hillsboro for work and the Kolditz are leaving in 2 weeks to Virginia Tech for a CES service mission to be the institute directors for the next 18 months. Anyhow it is a big loss to the branch, between the two families we lost our Branch President and 1st Counselor, Cub Scout den mom, piano teacher and like a 3rd of the youth/primary. All in all it’s going to be a little rough on us but the branch has survived worse.
And finally that brings us to today, so we got to go to the temple again in Portland and it was awesome, I have been there 3 times now but until now I have either forgot my camera or the batteries were dead, but today I finally got to take some pictures and just have a great time.
Well that's all for now. Hope all is well with everyone back at home and thanks Mom and Quinci for the letters this last week. I love you all tons.
